HOW TO READ THIS PAGE

Rationale, evidence, and context.

We separate why an ingredient was selected from what has actually been shown in research. Some Dream Weaver ingredients have human sleep trials at or near the dose used here. Others are included for mechanistic, nutritional, or complementary reasons.

The finished eight-ingredient Dream Weaver formula itself has not been clinically studied as a combination. Describing complementary roles is not the same as claiming proven synergy.

INGREDIENT BY INGREDIENT

Why each ingredient earned its place.

Glycine

3,000 mg

Why we selected it

Glycine is the quantitative anchor of Dream Weaver. The 3-gram bedtime dose is not arbitrary—it matches the dose used in small randomized human sleep studies.

What the research suggests

Small human trials reported improvements in subjective sleep quality and, in one study, sleep efficiency and latency to sleep onset/slow-wave sleep. The studies are promising but small, so the evidence should not be treated as definitive.

L-Theanine

200 mg

Why we selected it

L-Theanine gives the formula a relaxation-focused component without relying on supplemental melatonin. The 200 mg amount also sits within the range commonly examined in human supplementation research.

What the research suggests

A 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis found improvements in subjective sleep-onset latency, daytime dysfunction, and overall subjective sleep quality. Many included studies used combination products, which limits how confidently effects can be assigned to L-Theanine alone.

Magnesium

200 mg elemental

Why we selected it

Magnesium is an essential mineral involved in normal nerve and muscle function. Dream Weaver supplies 200 mg elemental magnesium as magnesium glycinate as a foundational component of the nighttime formula.

What the research suggests

Human sleep trials are mixed. A 2026 systematic review found inconsistent results and low-to-very-low certainty of evidence for magnesium as a stand-alone sleep intervention. We therefore do not position magnesium as the formula’s sole sleep driver.

Taurine

750 mg

Why we selected it

Taurine broadens the amino-acid profile of Dream Weaver and has a mechanistic relationship with inhibitory neurotransmission that differs from tryptophan or L-Theanine.

What the research suggests

Mechanistic literature describes interactions with GABA and glycine receptor systems and effects on neuronal excitability. Direct human sleep trials are sparse, so the sleep rationale for taurine is primarily mechanistic rather than established clinically.

Ziziphus jujuba

300 mg · ≥2% jujubosides

Why we selected it

We wanted a standardized botanical rather than an unspecified plant powder. Standardizing the extract to at least 2% jujubosides gives the ingredient a defined compositional benchmark.

What the research suggests

Small randomized human studies of related Ziziphus spinosa seed preparations have reported improvements in subjective sleep measures. Dream Weaver uses standardized Ziziphus jujuba extract, so those trials support the broader botanical rationale but are not direct tests of this exact extract.

L-Tryptophan

200 mg

Why we selected it

Tryptophan is an essential amino acid used in the biochemical pathway that produces serotonin and, downstream, melatonin. That makes it relevant to a melatonin-free formula without adding melatonin itself.

What the research suggests

A systematic review and meta-analysis found clearer sleep benefits at supplemental doses of at least 1 gram. Dream Weaver contains 200 mg, so we position tryptophan as pathway support within a broader formula rather than as a stand-alone sleep dose.

Apigenin

50 mg

Why we selected it

Apigenin is a plant flavonoid with a long association with calming botanicals and mechanistic research involving GABA-related signaling.

What the research suggests

Direct randomized human sleep trials of isolated apigenin are limited. Human sleep evidence is largely indirect through apigenin-containing botanicals such as chamomile, while isolated-apigenin sleep evidence is mainly mechanistic and preclinical.

Vitamin B6

2 mg

Why we selected it

Vitamin B6 functions as a cofactor in amino-acid metabolism and the biosynthesis of several neurotransmitters. Its role here is to support the biochemical architecture of the formula.

What the research suggests

B6 is not positioned as a stand-alone sleep aid. NIH sources describe its role in neurotransmitter biosynthesis, while a high-dose randomized trial found no significant improvement in broad sleep-related variables.

HOW THE FORMULA FITS TOGETHER

Different roles. One nighttime routine.

Dream Weaver was designed to cover several complementary physiological rationales instead of leaning on a single ingredient.

1

Wind-down signaling

L-Theanine, apigenin, and taurine provide the formula’s relaxation- and inhibitory-signaling rationale.

2

Sleep-related physiology

Glycine and magnesium provide amino-acid and mineral support relevant to normal nighttime physiology.

3

Precursor + cofactor support

L-Tryptophan and vitamin B6 connect the formula to amino-acid and neurotransmitter metabolic pathways.

4

Standardized botanical

Ziziphus jujuba adds a defined botanical component standardized to at least 2% jujubosides.

These categories describe formulation rationale. Dream Weaver has not been clinically tested as a finished combination, so additive or synergistic effects have not been established.
